A MIX of old and new will make up the activities at this year's Norwich City annual open day, which takes place at Carrow Road between 1.30pm and 6pm on Sunday, April 27.

As always there will be the opportunity to go behind the scenes at Carrow Road and get the autographs of the first team squad who will be in attendance*.

However, this year some new activities and events are planned within the popular family day. Including seeing first hand how the Club's football department uses Prozone - the sports performance analysis tool. Demonstrations will be taking place during the day by City's resident Prozone Analyst.

For the first time Canaries Assistant Manager Lee Clark and Reserve Manager Paul Stevenson will be joined by Football in the Community to coach a group of children who have applied for this special opportunity on the Carrow Road pitch.

FITC will also have their inflatable pitch available and interactive activities running at Carrow Park for those kids who want to get active.

Recycle for Norfolk will be joining the usual SoccerPM! under 16 fun in the Russell Allison with their 'make a rag bag' and mini 'Materials Recycling Facility' for children to get involved in. Their mascot Bertie the plastic bottle will be meeting young supporters along with Captain Canary and Splat the Cat throughout the day.

Fans themselves will be asked to sign up to becoming greener and learn about reducing their own carbon footprint. CRed the community carbon reduction programme based at the University of East Anglia will be demonstrating a ground-breaking smart metering system. This will enable people to calculate the carbon emissions arising from electricity use in their homes at any given point in time.

This complements the Club's own environmental initiative 'Yellow and Greener', which on open day will enable supporters to commit themselves to environmentally friendly pledges with the Club in areas such as energy provision, healthy eating and travel.

Other event highlights include Friends of Norwich City Youth auctioning Club memorabilia and the annual climax to the day - the open forum with key NCFC officials including City boss Glenn Roeder.

With the forthcoming Norwich City's Greatest Ever taking place at Carrow Road on Sunday, May 18, there will be an opportunity for supporters to buy their tickets at the open day and have the chance to be entered into a draw to win a special prize.

Anyone buying Greatest Ever tickets over the weekend of April 26 to 27 will be entered into a special prize draw. Those who have already purchased their tickets will also be entered automatically. The winner will get to bring the match ball onto the pitch before the teams run out for the first home league game of the 2008-09 season at Carrow Road. The prize also includes match tickets, ground tour and Gunn Club meals for two people, as well having a photograph taken with the day's man-of-the-match. For further information go to www.canaries.co.uk/greatestever.

Greatest Ever nominees Duncan Forbes and Darren Eadie will be taking part in a Greatest Ever player forum at 2pm with Chris Goreham of BBC Radio Norfolk and other former Canaries such as Robert Fleck, Phil Lythgoe, Adrian Coote, Bryan Gunn and Daryl Sutch will take on local media personalities in a 7-a-side exhibition match on the pitch at 4pm.

Outside the Jarrold Stand there will be an opportunity to go on board the team coach and to visit Norfolk District Council's Energy Bus - a purpose built 27-foot long information bus which runs on biodiesel and has demonstration equipment on board, including renewable energy devices, low energy lighting, insulation samples and information leaflets.

With free entry and plenty of activities and entertainment for all the family it's hoped many supporters will be able to join us. The Club car park will be open on a first-come first-served basis for free parking.
