CITY striker Chris Martin scored twice as the reserves shared six goals with Northampton in a thrilling match at Sixfields.

Martin scored either side of the break for the visitors, with Ross Kelly also on target for the Canaries.

Former City striker Ian Henderson was in the line-up for the home side, and he was also on the scoresheet twice, with Sam Maude getting the other.

It was Henderson who opened the scoring in the re-arranged Pontins Holiday Combination fixture, slotting past Matthew Gilks after the 'keeper had spilled Alex Dyer's initial effort.

Martin then levelled things on 28 minutes, scoring from close range to continue his excellent run of form for the second string.

Ten minutes into the second half Martin have the Canaries the lead, scoring with a spectacular 30-yard effort. Home 'keeper Chris Dunn got a hand to it, but was beaten all ends up by the pace of the shot.

Maude equalised on 65 minutes following more good work by Henderson, but when City re-took the lead 81 minutes through Kelly, it looked to be enough to secure victory.

But Henderson had other ideas, scoring with three minutes left to secure a point for both sides.
