As I have said before that this blog is not a mouthpiece for the club. I believe in honest free speech and so when there's something I feel should be criticised at Carrow Road I will do so.
On the other hand in today's society we tend to moan and complain too easily and never recognise when things are going right.
On this occasion I'm not referring to what's happening on the pitch. In this, my third blog for the web site, I want to pay tribute to the helpfulness of staff at Carrow Road. Sadly bad service seems to be the norm nowadays. I have had some shocking responses over the past few months from a variety of national chains in Norwich where rudeness and unhelpfulness seemed to be the order of the day.
It is refreshing therefore to go to Carrow Road where I have found the service to be top class. A number of weeks ago I paid a visit to the ground to renew my season tickets. I also wanted to look into the possibility of moving from the Jarrold to the City stand.
The Customer Service department was extremely helpful. Not only did the young lady search through the possibilities, she took myself and my wife to look at the seats available and then quickly and efficiently switched our tickets and set up our standing order. She was friendly and helpful throughout.
Next stop was the club shop where my wife wanted to buy one of the new Dion mugs. We received quick and efficient service again and watch out Dion because her who must be obeyed is after you with an indelible pen!!!
Finally we ate at Yellows and the good experience continued. In all I guess we were at Carrow Road for about 90 minutes - we only visit Carrow Road in 90 minute stints!!
We came away with a warm feeling towards the club about the level of service. Not surprisingly shortly after I read on the club's website that city had won the Sports Alliance Championship Family Club of the Year title The award was based on three key elements - the experiences of a mystery fan who visited every club in the Championship, the club's child protection policies and the successful Soccer PM initiative at reserve games. This mystery shopper looked at things from both a home and away perspective.
Norwich City is a club that is very aware of its fans. We turn up every week come rain or shine, win or lose. It is good to know that her is a club that fully recognises this fact and goes that extra mile to make match day an enjoyable experience.
